In today's video, Mike jumps back into his ketogenic diet experiment. For those of you not following along, Mike has been trying several different supplements to see how it would effect both his blood sugar and blood ketones. The goal of this keto experiment is to help keto dieters know what supplement ingredients they can use, and what ingredients to stear away from.
In today's video Mike try's out L-Citrulline to see if it is in fact glucogenic. We know that arginine has been shown to be glucogenic and wouldn't be recommended for keto dieters, but does Citrulline do the same?
Answer is yes, but not horrific. The pros may outweigh the cons for most athletes, but we advise staying away from citrulline-based supplements while you are transitioning into ketosis / fat adaptation.
